Latex PolyFoam Puppets for Green Screen shoot

Language Center (Photo Preben Borch)
This was the culminating shoot of a couple of months of work, designing and creating 11 body- part puppets with Bill Jarcho for a children's educational video. Huge learning curve with latex casting and Polyfoam fill. Lots of experimentation. I'm set for the next project now! Clay Martin was the puppet master for the shoot (In greenscreen suit). It will be fun to see the final video. Dennis Holyfield (glasses) adjusts the lungs and language center.

Monster Masks

GOD BLESS STAPLE PLIERS !!!
Just finished these large cardboard moster masks for Jack & the Bean Stalk (A Panto version) at Center Stage Theater. I think they look a little weird in these photos, but I know they will kick ass on stage. They look like they are flat, but I had to sculpt them 3-D so that they would read from the side, which is what took most of the time. I'm going to the production to see the Giant, monsters & ghosts in action. http://www.centerstagetheatre.com/

Buffoons de UMO

This is the 20th Anniversary of UMO, the amazing physical theater company that I used to be part of. They are re-doing their seminal work "El Dorado" this November. Below are the buffoons with the original cast members (Minus me, I bugged out early) and some drawings i did when we were developing the original costume designs. Buffoons left to right: Esther Edelman, Kevin Joyce, Janet McAlpin, David Godsey, Martha Enson. http://www.umo.org/ Costumes by Patricia Toovey

Mad Hatter Design

This is a costume design I did for my Mad Hatter character. The costume is now complete, I just don't have a great pic of it yet, but it's fabulous! Arlette made the coat, I morphed a tacky Hatter hat into a good one & Laura King made the pants (which go up to my nipples). And Thanks Patricia Toovey for your expert consultation!

Tennis Anyone?

Here's my first attempt at making my own latex prosthetic. I made jowls to widen the face, but didn't have enought time to try to make them work. The santa outfit and Grinch hands were made by Wendy Oberlin . ENTCO will be selling me as the Grinch this season, as well as other characters (NOT the Wizzard or Easter Bunny) http://www.entco.com/costume_characters.htm Photo Jen Reidel

RUMPUS Clown

Drifting down memory lane....This was the album cover of my band Rumpus' only CD called Art Bombz, displaying my psycho hippie r.crumb style. Looking at it now, I think that the blank banner on the bomb should say "Foreign Policy".

Giant Head

I just finished the Giants head for Jack and the Bean Stalk. Mostly cardboard construction with fabric mache overlay and Gap-filler foam for hair. I was so pissed at the paint sprayer the night before I almost turned into the incredible hulk and smashed the whole building. Luckily, I'm not Bruce Banner. The sweet Children are, Louisa & Giacomo (mine) and Clara Atwell (in middle), neighbor girl.
